Romeo & Juliet : CAST ANNOUNCEMENT

Ladies and gentlemen: the cast of Romeo & Juliet in Eastville Park Swimming Pool!

Aaron Anthony can currently be seen performing in 'View from a Bridge' as part of the inaugural Factory Company at the Tobacco Factory Theatres to great acclaim, and joins us as Benvolio. Peter Clifford is well known as both an actor (including several seasons with Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory) and magician - notably working with Derren Brown and David Blaine! He worked with Insane Root on 'The Tempest', and joins us now as the imposing Capulet.

Returning to Insane Root is Ben Crispin, who you may remember as Macbeth from 'Macbeth at the Redcliffe Caves', taking on the dual role of Mercutio and Paris. Taking half the helm as Romeo is Peter Edwards, who has previously been in seen in Bristol's 'Pink Mist' and Robin Hood for The Egg Theatre, Bath, Christmas show.

Actor-musician Amy Gardyne has toured the UK extensively, and will lead the company as the Chorus and Music Captain, doubling in as the Servant and Apothecary, anchoring the story. Richard Holt will take on the dual role of Montague and Friar Lawrence. Richard notably played the Prince in the Tobacco Factory's Christmas production of 'The Light Princess', and has recently portrayed the Mad Hatter as part of Les Enfants Terribles' 'Alice Underground'.

Bristol-trained Kate Kordel will join us as Lady Capulet; Kate has most recently been filming in Spain, and was part of the SATTF 'Comedy of Errors' season. We are also delighted to welcome Brad Morrison who will double as both Tybalt and Friar John. Brad graduated from BOVTS in 2016 and has recently performed in 'Twelfth Night' for the National Theatre.

Taking the other half of the helm as Juliet is Jessica Temple. You may recognise her as part of the devising company of 'Medea' for the Bristol Old Vic, and she has notably performed in the critically acclaimed 'Peter Pan' at the National Theatre, directed by Bristol favourite, Sally Cookson. Rounding off our wonderful ensemble is Deborah Tracey as both the Prince and the Nurse. Deb joins us having previously performed as the Queen of Hearts in 'Alice Underground', and can be recognised from a plethora of screen roles.
