Wet Weather Policy
WET WEATHER
When will you cancel due to the weather?
We will never cancel a show before the advertised start time - even on days when it has been raining consistently it can quickly clear up in time for a performance, and weather can be surprisingly localised.
If a show is cancelled due to weather this will be announced at the venue at the time of the decision. Regardless of whether you were at the venue or not at the time of cancellation, as a ticketholder for that performance you will still be able to benefit from our policy for exchanging tickets following a weather-related cancellation. We do not communicate cancellations to patrons who did not come to the venue or who have already left the venue, but you can contact us afterwards to find out if the performance was cancelled.
You mean I have to stand in the rain?
Yes - but only if it actually rains! One of the joys of open-air theatre is the impact that the weather can have on the drama and atmosphere of a performance, so we invite you to embrace the weather conditions as another aspect of the show. We encourage everyone to wear weather-appropriate clothing, and we will have a limited number of rain ponchos available for purchase in case you get caught short.
Although we expect to complete all our scheduled performances, as the performance space is completely uncovered, we may have to stop and re-start the show. On rare occasions, it will not be possible for us to complete the performance. Tickets are non-refundable in the event of cancellation because of the weather but may be exchanged for another performance, subject to availability.
Can I bring an umbrella?
You're very welcome to bring an umbrella to keep you dry before and after the show, but umbrellas are not permitted to be used within the performance space.
GETTING TO THE VENUE / PARKING
How do I get to Eastville Park Swimming Pool?
Eastville Park Swimming Pool can be found at the north east corner of Eastville Park - very near the children's playground. There is extremely limited free parking at this end of the park; the car park is the location of our Box Office. There is on-street parking available in the streets surrounding the park but we encourage all audience members to consider alternate modes of transport so as not to disrupt the local residents.
The 48, 48a and 49 buses from Bristol City Centre stop right next to the Park on Fishponds Road (take the "Royate Hill" stop) - from there it is a short walk through to the performance area.
THE PERFORMANCE EXPERIENCE
Can I take photos of the performance space?
We respectfully request that cameras and recording devices are not used during the performance - we reserve the right to confiscate any found disrupting the show. At the end of the show there will be a short period where you can take any photos you'd like, but we do have a tight turn-around between performances.
Can I bring a picnic to the park for before/after the show?
Absolutely! We encourage you to make the most of your visit and enjoy Bristol's beautiful green spaces.
Do you have a CD soundtrack available?
We do not currently have a Romeo & Juliet soundtrack available, but Tempest CDs are available from the on-site Box Office and through our company email address: info@insaneroot.co.uk - contact Ellie for more information.
Are there toilets?
Yes, a limited number of temporary event toilets are available at the Box Office area.
ACCESS
Is the space wheelchair accessible?
The park and performance space are wheelchair accessible, but we regret that there are certain areas within the performance space are not. Please contact the company (info@insaneroot.co.uk) before your visit and we will ensure you have a fantastic, inclusive, experience.
TICKETS
Do you do concessions?
We offer discounted tickets for school groups and residents living within 1 mile of the pool - to book these, please contact the company directly on info@insaneroot.co.uk.
I booked the wrong date!
Not to worry - contact Justin (info@insaneroot.co.uk) and we'll do our best to rearrange your booking for the correct date. Please note that we may charge a small fee for this, or the difference in ticket price if the type of ticket changes as a result. We cannot refund incorrectly booked tickets but will transfer them subject to availability.
I can't make the show anymore - can I get a refund?
Tickets are non-refundable, but due to our limited capacities we often end up with a waiting list and can arrange for tickets to be sold on. We will only offer this after a performance has sold out. We do not condone ticket touting of any kind.
